Do not leave your valuables unprotected! Get Tenant Insurance.

Monday, October 3rd, 2011

If you’re currently renting your living space, you may be leaving yourself exposed to risk.  Many tenants wrongly believe that their landlord’s property insurance extends to the renter, and that in the event of significant loss, the landlord’s insurance will cover their property.  News Flash – wrong!

Tenants and renters are not covered by the landlord’s insurance policy.  That is why tenant’s insurance was created.

In addition to providing insurance coverage for a tenant’s property, most tenant insurance policies will cover the tenant in the event that they are sued by a visitor who suffered an injury on the premises.

Don’t leave yourself exposed.  Call our office today for a quick and easy quote – OR – use our self-serve online quoting tool and quote yourself: http://mooremcleaninsurancegroup.com/home.php.

New online resource created for tire shopping

Wednesday, September 28th, 2011
New online resource created for tire shopping

The internet has made shopping easier for millions of Canadians. And after a recent announcement made by Canadian Tire, driving safer can be achieved through the world wide web as well.

According to the automotive retailer, the company just launched a service on its website that will allow motorists to peruse over 8,000 product offerings, many of them exclusive to Canadian Tire. The company says this should make purchasing tires easier.

Allan MacDonald, senior vice president for Canadian Tire, said the website should help further solidify the client-business relationship the company has established with customers since 1922.

“The launch of the online tire store not only provides Canadians with a new and innovative resource to help them buy the right tires for their vehicle,” said MacDonald.

With winter around the corner, automotive repair specialists are quick to remind motorists to make sure their tires have enough tread and are properly inflated to avoid costly repairs and automotive insurance claims. Drivers who change their tires may be eligible to receive a winter tire discount on their plans.

Transport Canada advises drivers to fit winter tires on all four wheels – and not just two – to stay in control during the difficult driving conditions common during winter.

Getting safely to cottage country.

Friday, July 15th, 2011
  • Dark country roads on a Friday night are not the time for you to show off how fast you can get to the cottage. Take your time, go the speed limit and arrive safely to enjoy a beautiful Saturday morning.
  • To get rid of the tailgater or a conga line of cars behind you, with their headlights reflecting in your mirror and blinding you, don’t be tempted to speed up.  Maintin the speed limit, and safely change lanes.  If you can’t change lanes, he/she will probably get fed up with your slower pace and pass you.
  • Use small towns as an opportunity to let the tailgater/conga line pass you. Slow down when you start to see a town in the distance and pull into a driveway or store parking lot. You will at least get a reprieve for a little while before the next “must-get-to-the-cottage-ASAP!” driver starts tailgating you.
  • If you haven’t had the opportunity to nap during the day and are driving at night, or have a tendency to be narcoleptic, reconsider leaving the driving to someone else, or leave after you’ve had a chance to shut down for a couple hours.  Fuel up on caffeine, and pace yourself in drinking that coffee as a steady stream of caffeine into your system will keep you buzzing most of the route. Luckily in Canada we have so many Tim Horton’s coffee shops that it’s easy to get our coffee fix in almost every big town and service stop before hitting the deserted country roads and highways.Make sure whoever is in the car with you is willing and able to drive in the event that an alternate is needed. Switching half-way through the trip is a good idea.
  • Listen to music, but be careful of your genre selection. While relaxing music may help with your stress level on your white-knuckle drive, it will also put you to sleep.
