GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:

Prime Directive: Internal Customer Support Processing Commercial Insurance transactions

Processing new, renewal and change documents and their corresponding documents

Updating Agency Manager system with client policy data

Invoicing as directed by Account Manager

Updating claims information on the Agency Manager system, including open and closed claim notices

Scan and attach documents as directed

Other duties as assigned

Minimum college diploma,

Successful completion of Business Administration an asset

The Opportunity

We’re looking for an individual to fill a new position and take charge of our complete IT needs.  In addition to providing day-to-day support for our IT infrastructure including servers, network, workstations and peripherals you will develop and implement training programs to ensure our employees are utilizing our systems to their full potential along with developing long-term plans to ensure the company has the necessary technology infrastructure to meet its growth goals and objectives.

Responsibilities

  • The primary responsibilities of the IT Manager’s position include:
  • Manage the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade, and support of all IT systems, including telecommunication systems, networks, servers, computers, operating systems, hardware, software, and peripherals.​
  • Provide end-user services on a timely basis, including help desk and technical support services.​ This includes travel to each of the company’s branch offices.
  • Develop and deliver on an ongoing basis comprehensive training programs for all employees for major software applications including Agency Manager and Microsoft Office suite of products
  • Benchmark, analyze report on, and make recommendations for the improvement and growth of the IT infrastructure and IT systems.​
  • Manage security aspects of the IT Department, including audits, vulnerability tests, compliance data gathering, and other security related tasks as appropriate.​
  • Develop and implement all IT policies and procedures, including those for architecture, security, disaster recovery, standards and purchasing.
  • Assist in the research, negotiation and administration of vendor, outsourcer, and consultant contracts and service agreements.
  • Assist with the development and delivery of strategies for online marketing including use of search engines, email promotion and social media.
  • Establish and maintain regular written and in-person communications with the organization’s executives, department heads, and end users regarding pertinent IT activities.​
  • Work with stakeholders to define business and systems requirements for new technology implementations.​

 

 Qualifications & Education

  • A minimum five years related work experience
  • Experience in the property and casualty insurance industry is a definite asset
  • Strong technical knowledge of server OS, remote connectivity, network devices, desk/​laptop OS, Microsoft Office, etc.​
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.​ Must be able to work with all levels of employees
  • Strong ability to think outside of the box and solve-problems/​issues/​challenges quickly
  • Advanced oral and written skills; must be able to present in technical and non-technical language.​
  • Knowledge of web page design and implementation, graphics, and social media programs a plus
  • Relevant post-secondary diploma or degree
  • Citrix and Microsoft certification a significant asset
